Filipino actor Alden Richards recently had a memorable encounter on the red carpet, meeting Hollywood action superstar Tom Cruise.

The meeting occurred at the red carpet premiere of 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday, May 8.

Richards, recognized as the newly crowned Philippine Box Office King, attended the event as one of the special VIP guests. He shared this significant moment with his followers, posting a clip on Instagram showing him shaking hands with Cruise.

Captioning the post with excitement, Richards wrote, "Ethan meets Ethan… I have no words!" This line playfully references his own character, Ethan, from the box office hits 'Hello, Love, Goodbye' and 'Hello, Love, Again', and Cruise's long-running role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise.

Besides meeting the lead, Richards also had the chance to connect with other members of the film's cast present at the premiere, including Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and Greg Tarzan Davis.

'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' is the latest movie in the action spy series that began in 1996. Following 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One', this installment is widely speculated to be the final mission for Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, potentially concluding the franchise's current arc.

Tom Cruise himself spoke to the film's importance at the Tokyo premiere on Monday, May 5, stating, as quoted in a press release, "This film is a culmination of the last 30 years of making this franchise. And I’m telling you, everything has led to this."

Movie enthusiasts in the Philippines can look forward to seeing 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' when it opens in cinemas on Saturday, May 17.
