‘Beyond expectation’: BTS’ J-Hope promises Manila return

Manila was recently painted in hues of purple and excitement as BTS' J-Hope brought his electrifying 'Hope on the Stage' concert to the Philippines.

The SM Mall of Asia Arena pulsed with energy on Saturday, April 12, as Filipino ARMYs welcomed J-Hope for the opening night of his highly anticipated Asian tour.

J-Hope, visibly moved by the enthusiastic reception, shared that the immense crowd and their passionate cheers exceeded his expectations. He expressed feeling truly inspired by the Manila ARMY's vibrant energy.

During the concert, J-Hope treated fans to a dynamic setlist of 25 songs, featuring tracks from his solo mixtapes 'Hope World' and 'Jack in the Box,' as well as popular collaborative pieces.

The Manila concert was not just a performance; it was an exchange of affection. Filipino fans prepared heartwarming surprises, including distributing squirrel masks for the first night and planning a sunflower display for the second, adding special touches to the already memorable event.

Beyond the music, this concert holds significance as it marks the commencement of the countdown to all seven BTS members completing their mandatory military service, a milestone keenly awaited by fans worldwide. J-Hope, who completed his service in October 2024, is the second member to do so.

J-Hope's promise to return to Manila has only amplified the excitement, leaving Filipino ARMYs eagerly anticipating his next visit, following BTS's previous concerts in the city back in 2017.
