Director Erik Matti and his wife, writer Michiko Yamamoto, are the creators of the six-part HBO Asia miniseries On the Job.
The TV show is an adaptation of the 2013 film of the same name and its sequel, The Missing 8, which debuted in 2021 as the sole Filipino production at the 78th Venice International Film Festival and received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. Veteran actor John Arcilla starred in both films.
