‘Wicked’ cast is looking for Filipino duet singers for ‘Awiting Wicked: For Good’

Calling all aspiring Elphabas and Glindas! The highly anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway hit "Wicked" is launching an exciting search for talented Filipino duet singers. Director Jon M. Chu, alongside stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, are seeking dynamic duos to participate in "Awiting Wicked: For Good," a unique audition competition.

Universal Pictures Philippines is inviting "besties" to showcase their vocal prowess by singing "For Good," one of the most beloved songs from the upcoming musical. This is a golden opportunity to lend your voice to the Philippine rendition of this iconic number.

The stakes are high! Three winning duos will not only contribute their singing talent to the local version of "For Good" but also potentially feature in its official music video. Even more enchanting, the lucky winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore, where they'll have the incredible chance to meet the film's stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, and director Jon M. Chu.

The competition runs from September 19 to October 5, with the winners personally selected by Erivo, Grande, and Chu, and announced on October 13. Aspiring participants can submit their entries by posting a video of themselves singing "For Good" on TikTok.

For those preferring in-person auditions, "Awiting Wicked: For Good" has partnered with SM to host events at key locations across the Philippines, including SM Mall of Asia, SM Lanang, SM City Iloilo, and SM Seaside Cebu. To help contestants prepare, Universal Music Philippines will also provide a vocal guide for the song.

The "Wicked" film series brings the beloved Tony Award-winning 2003 musical to the big screen. Adapting the first half of the original stage production, the initial "Wicked" film delves into the captivating untold story of the Land of Oz, focusing on the origins and complex friendship between the future Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

The star-studded cast features Cynthia Erivo as the powerful Elphaba, Ariana Grande as the charming Glinda, Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero Tigelaar, Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman, Michelle Yeoh as Madam Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the enigmatic Wizard of Emerald City.

Following the first installment, the sequel, "Wicked: For Good," which adapts the second half of the musical, is set to fly into Philippine cinemas on November 19. Don't miss your chance to be part of this magical journey!
