Why Annabelle McDonnell puts spotlight on PH textiles in Miss Globe 2025 journey

As the international pageant scene gears up, the Philippines' representative for Miss Globe 2025, Annabelle McDonnell, is set to make a significant impact, armed with a passion for local culture and a deeply personal advocacy.

The Iligan City pride is focused on championing the vibrant Philippine textile industry, an area she believes has been "overlooked for too long." Annabelle aims to elevate the exposure of these beautiful textiles from various regions in global markets, showcasing the country's rich craftsmanship.

Her commitment to this cause will be evident throughout her Miss Globe journey in Albania this October, as she plans to prominently feature Philippine textiles in her wardrobe and hinted at a national costume that draws inspiration from this cultural heritage.

Beyond textiles, Annabelle is a fierce advocate for children's rights and welfare, an advocacy shaped by her own early experiences with poverty. Having supported her family by selling secondhand clothes and bread, she understands firsthand the struggles many children face.

Her volunteer work with Save the Children Philippines has further molded her compassionate and outspoken nature. At Miss Globe, Annabelle intends to advance the basic principles of children’s rights, promote protection strategies, and leverage social media to expand the reach of charitable initiatives. She hopes to connect with fellow contestants, emphasizing that investing in youth is a universal foundation for a nation's progress.

The 25-year-old beauty queen is a familiar face in the pageant world, having previously earned first runner-up titles in Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and Miss Charm 2023. Now, as Miss Globe Philippines 2025, she strives to bring home the country's third Miss Globe crown, following Anne Colis in 2015 and Maureen Montagne in 2021.

Annabelle enjoys robust support from her family, friends, and the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. Executive committee member Pia Roxas-Ojeda commended her "quiet confidence" and resilience, noting her life experiences make her a truly inspiring and fitting representative. Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra also expressed strong belief in Annabelle's ability to "bring the crown here in the Philippines."

Ultimately, Annabelle aspires to be a source of inspiration, connecting with diverse individuals and fostering belief in dreams. Reflecting on her journey, she underscored the power of kindness, stating, "All the kindness you give yourself and your community comes back to you in some way." She encourages everyone to trust their personal path, never allowing others to dictate their potential, and reminds us all to "Buckle up and enjoy the journey of life. You owe it to yourself to succeed."
