SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and Woozi to enlist in military in September

PLEDIS Entertainment has officially announced that two members of the acclaimed K-Pop group SEVENTEEN, Hoshi and Woozi, are preparing to begin their mandatory military service this September.

The agency shared the news via the WeVerse platform on Tuesday, July 8. According to the announcement, Woozi, the leader of the vocal unit, is scheduled to commence his service on September 15, followed closely by Hoshi, the leader of the performance unit, on September 16.

Before their temporary hiatus from group activities, both idols are confirmed to participate in two remaining promotions. These include the upcoming 'HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING]', specifically featuring the two members, and a fan call event hosted by Chinese K-Pop store Yizhiyu to promote their fifth and latest album, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY', which was released in May.

PLEDIS also issued a reminder to fans regarding the enlistment process, requesting that they refrain from visiting the physical site of the enlistment ceremony. The agency emphasized that numerous enlistees and their families would be present and asked fans to send their well wishes and encouragement through Weverse instead.

To help fans during the members' service period, the agency stated they plan to release pre-recorded content from Hoshi and Woozi to maintain engagement.

Lee Ji-hoon, known as Woozi, is recognized for his significant contributions as a producer, composer, and songwriter for SEVENTEEN and will be the third member to enlist for active duty service. Kwon Soon-young, or Hoshi, is one of the group's main dancers and choreographers, the fifth-oldest member, and follows fellow members Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who enlisted in September 2024 and April 2025, respectively.
