Babae at Baril film of Janine Gutierrez in which she won best-actress has this indie movie vibe and also the story, that's dark and also mind-boggling, not for everyone's taste but technically how the film was done was really a great job that's why the director (Rae Red) also bagged the best director in the QCinema 2019.

A girl, a gun, and desperate times. 

After being pushed to the edge most of her life, a girl discovers how much power owning a gun can give her and decides she’s had enough of being the underdog.

Janine Gutierrez stars as a saleslady in a local department store. Her everyday life is composed of an exhausting commute home and a Manager who always seems to have something to say about her physical state. When she finally gets home, there's no one there but her roommate who couldn't care less about her. 

All that is about to change when she finds a peculiar looking gun right on her doorstep. Her life instantly changes as she feels she can do anything she wants, talk back to whomever she wants, and even hurt anyone she wants. 

The film stars Janine Gutierrez, Felix Roco, Elijah Canlas, JC Santos, and Sky Teotico with special participation of Ruby Ruiz, Allan Paule, and Archie Adamos and will be shown in selected cinemas from October 15 to 22, 2019. 

Babae at Baril is director Rae Red’s sophomore feature and first solo directorial effort. The movie tackles how it is like to be a woman in a world of violence and masculinity. 

Babae at Baril is one of the three recipients of production grants amounting to P1.5 million each from QCinema. The movie will be competing along with Glenn Barit’s The Cleaners and Arnel Barbarona’s Kaaway sa Sulod, and against entries from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, and China. 

QCinema 2019 runs from October 13 to 22 and will be screening films at Gateway Mall, Ayala Trinoma, Robinsons Galleria, UPFI Cine Adarna, Cinema ’76 Anonas, and Cinema Centenario in Quezon City.

Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi is a unique movie more than its title. It's a bittersweet movie, straightforward movie, it has a in tact way of telling story no further a due that catches you from the start to end.

Jun Lana's way of creating Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi is really catchy and he knows the formula of getting your attention, just like how Koreanovelas are created. From the colorful, glossy cinematography, to the added symbolic elements such as the butterfly etc. The movie brings back the memory lane of how we enjoyed the true connection with people around us and nature even without internet connection and just reminds us analog things and how it can be romantic in ways. The movie is really creatively perfectly done! 

Sue Ramirez, Jameson Blake, Markus Paterson is a combination of perfect cast selection in the movie, its not their fame today that will catch you but their convincing acting in the movie, the character of Macha was portrayed by Angellie Sanoy is also a must see in the movie, she did well and the comic relief of her character makes it also a better movie.

Barbie Forteza and Ken Chan is Meant To Be in Cinemas

KenBie loveteam that started in their hit TV Series "Meant To Be." Ano now that they landed their first movie, there's no denying that they (KenBie) are also Meant To Be in cinemas.

This Time I'll be Sweeter is one of the films displaying a girls perspective when having a crush or in love with a girl and how they can be aggressive to deal with it. The film also is obviously justifying of how we should give chances to love and to the person we love, once loved more than a second chance.[post_ads]

Ken Chan and Barbie Forteza in the film definitely will give you romantic excitements as they really have this nice rapport.

Pros

This Time I'll Be Sweeter is a sweet, light, bubbly film with some added dramatic tensions plus of course the romance brought by KenBie

Cons

There were some unnecessary scenes and inconsistencies of character dialogues vs actions, poor graphics insertion

"The Barker" isn't as good as Empoy's "Kita Kita"

After watching Empoy and Shy Carlos' movie "The Barker." It seems Empoy is on a rollercoaster ride with his career. As after his major hit movie with Alessandra De Rossi "Kita Kita." Honestly The Barker is far from Kita Kita' quality and substance -- Yes considering that The Barker is a comedy film compared to Kita Kita's theme is Romance-Comedy-Drama, still it isn't good for a comedy film, straightforwardly.[post_ads]

Shy Carlos and Empoy at The Barker Premiere Night

The film takes off a good start but dis not maintain it's storyline,continuity and sequence, from these first mistakes and were not fixed til the end, tend to make the whole film confusing to viewers.

Sad to say but maybe it's the forced material for Empoy and the timeframe given for this film was short. Viva may have been to eager to land another Kita Kita and milk Empoy for his current fame, in which we cannot blame Viva for that being business wise.

What's the good side in The Barker movie?

If there're negative, we can always look at the brighter side. Empoy is Empoy, he is FUNNY. The viewers' catch would be 'how far Empoy and Shy went in this movie?’  The movie is funny without thinking any sequence, its funny. Seeing a Sylvia Sanchez in a dance prod is interesting and a must-see!
