TV5 and ESPN joined forces to be ESPN5

MANILA, Philippines -- TV5 Network Inc., (TV5) and ESPN have announced an agreement for a long-term collaboration to introduce a new brand that will super serve Filipino sports fans -- ESPN5

TV5 has had been a pioneer when it comes to giving sports entertainment, as TV5 Network has established their name in giving the best sports contents and the biggest sports event provider in the Philippines as they are our Philippine media partner in the gigantic events like FIBA, SEA Games and even the Olympic media partner in the Philippines.

"What's going to happen is that the whole morning on TV5 will be dedicated to international sports," TV5 CEO Chot Reyes said.

Also with this being said, TV5 CEO Chot Reyes said that inline with this partnership also, viewers will know the stand of TV5 in the market, a mainly sports channel.
"We want to be the biggest sports channel in the country," TV5 CEO Chot Reyes said.
Having ESPN 5 --it will encompass all sports coverage on TV5. ESPN will license TV5 more than 2,500 hours of additional programming per year from its portfolio of sports rights, original programming and studio programs. The companies will also join forces to produce a daily Philippine edition of the iconic SportsCenter to air on TV5 -- in which we (Philippines) are the only allowed to produce a local version of the show, the show host is yet to be determined.

ESPN 5 lineup will consists of TV5's current sports rights portfolio, including PBA, FIBA competitions, GILAS, UFC and the PSL, along with thousands of hours of new sports coverage and content from ESPN which include more than 70 NFL games per season. These include Monday Night, Sunday Night and Thursday Night Football games, as well as the entire NFL Playoffs, the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. Alongside the live games, ESPN 5 will be able to feature award-winning ESPN NFL studio programming such as NFL Live.
