After Philippines last won on FIBA Asia Championship in 1986, after the long time finally Philippines made it again for a SILVER win as the host of this year's FIBA Asia Championship. Gilas shown much gilas defeating teams of Kazakhstan, Korea unfortunately Philippines didn't make it to end up with GOLD win, Philippines ended up with SILVER win from Iran (GOLD) with the scores of 71-85, though Gilas Pilipinas much gained congratulatory recognitions from all the Filipinos, they even got courtesy call from the Malacanan and from himself President Aquino.

Gilas Pilipinas wins Silver, qualifies for next years' FIBA holding in spain.
