Sad news has reached us from the world of cinema. Actor Michael Madsen, instantly recognizable for his memorable roles in numerous films, including several iconic Quentin Tarantino features, has passed away at the age of 67.

According to statements from his representatives on Thursday, July 3, Madsen died at his residence in Malibu, California. His manager, Ron Smith, confirmed the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Born in Chicago, Madsen embarked on his acting journey in the early 1980s, building a prolific career that included appearances in the television series "St. Elsewhere" and the movie "The Natural." Over the decades, his extensive filmography grew to encompass more than 300 on-screen credits.

He was particularly celebrated for his collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino, notably portraying the chilling Mr. Blonde in the 1992 hit "Reservoir Dogs." He also appeared in Tarantino's "Kill Bill," "The Hateful Eight," and "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood," cementing his status as a key figure in modern independent cinema.

A joint statement from his management and publicist highlighted his dedication to independent film work in his later years. They also mentioned he was nearing the release of a book of poetry titled "Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems."
